Providing pure Punjabi food and sweets since 1996. Being just a stone throw away from the center of Southall you are able to experience its true form...
They both had a dream to open a restaurant that served proper home cooked Punjabi food, straight from their very own recipes, and there is no better place than in the heart of Southall, where communities are brought together with food and culture.
Surinder came to England when he was 12 years old and has been working since he was 14 at a bakery, butchers and was also and area manager for a well known fast-food chain. Surinder wanted to be a pilot when he was younger but has always worked in the food industry and so naturally you can say he has always had a passion for good food.
Anita, came to England aged 19, and worked very hard as a hotel cleaner and was cleaning double the amount of rooms to save money to buy a restaurant with her husband and since 1996 has never looked back. Since the day the Poornima Restaurant opened, Anita has bought fresh ingredients every morning for the day and has to date is at the restaurant in the morning to run the kitchen for breakfast. As you can imagine there is nothing better than a fresh hot Paratha.
Both Surinder and Anita are still the heart of the restaurant insuring that the day to day running of the restaurant gives all their customers a true taste of Punjabi food.
